Notre entreprise se caractérise par la volonté de répondre aux besoins croissants du marché en matière de communication et d'information. Dans cette optique, nous nous faisons fort de développer des moyens de communication et d'expression performants, afin de satisfaire ces besoins dans toute leur complexité en abolissant les frontières culturelles et géographiques.

Wacom se consacre entièrement à cet objectif. Depuis plus de 20 ans, notre société conçoit et commercialise des outils informatiques novateurs destinés à favoriser la créativité de leurs utilisateurs en leur permettant d'exprimer leurs pensées et leurs idées clairement et simplement.

Notre nom se compose des mots « wa » (harmonie, en japonais) et « com » (pour « computer », qui signifie « ordinateur » en anglais). Nous pensons que la technologie peut contribuer à améliorer la compréhension et l'harmonie entre les hommes, et nous avons fait de cette idée notre philosophie. En permettant aux utilisateurs d′exprimer leurs talents les plus intuitifs (l'écriture et le dessin, par exemple) face à des ordinateurs et en simplifiant l'utilisation des technologies modernes, nous favorisons l'harmonie entre le monde numérique et ceux qui l'utilisent, et avec elle, la communication et la compréhension.

 

Our society is characterised by an ever-increasing need for communication and information. In order to fulfil the complex demands for communication without cultural or geographical boundaries, it is necessary continually to develop new, high-performance methods of communication and expression.

Wacom has dedicated itself to this task. For more than twenty years, Wacom has been producing and promoting innovative, PC-related tools designed to help people to illustrate their thoughts and ideas more clearly, easily and creatively.

The company name is derived from wa = harmony (from Japanese); com = computer. It is Wacom's philosophy that technology can contribute to achieving a greater understanding and harmony between people. By allowing users to exploit their most intuitive of abilities when interfacing with computers, e.g writing and drawing, or by enabling technology to be used very intuitively, the harmony between users and digital world will develop, and consequently, communication and understanding will be enhanced.
